Certified Seed Potato News

Good quality certified seed potatoes

By February 12, 2018 July 22nd, 2023 No Comments

Surveillance of Potato Cyst Nematode (PCN) of all fields used to produce certified seed crops in South Australia, Victoria and Northern New South Wales has shown no reported detection's of PCN in any fields. This is consistent with previous years surveillance results. AuSPICA has conducted mandatory PCN soil testing since 1991.

The ongoing history of PCN surveillance gives strong evidence that PCN is known not to occur in the certified seed potato production under the AuSPICA Scheme. It is important that this status is maintained with ongoing surveillance.
