An outstanding lineup of conference speakers from around the world delivered informative and thought provoking presentations over the two days in mid August. Over 150 delegates attended the conference held in the Arts Centre in Melbourne, from farmers to producers to researchers, there was a broad range of potato backgrounds in the room.
A highlight was the Gala Dinner, where Laticia Tymensen (daughter of Lisa and Wayne Tymensen) talked about her battle with bone cancer that she was diagnosed with when she was 12. Leticia is now in remission and is doing well in school. The Gala raised an incredible $27,730 for the MyRoom foundation which helps children battling cancer.
