Outstanding contributions to industry

Roger Kirkham was Australia's long serving potato breeder based at the Toolangi Research Station (1975-2003). He was well known for his  expertise and devotion to the breeding and trialing of potato varieties for all aspects of the Australian industry. Dr Kirkham tragically passed in 2015.

Many potato varieties were bred and developed under Roger’s guidance to name a few … Ruby Lou, White Star, Riverinia Russet, Lustre, Shine with many of these varieties still in use today!

In tribute to the memory of Roger, and his outstanding contribution to the Australian Potato Industry, there will be a formal unveiling of an official plaque in recognition of Roger at the Toolangi Research Station on the 17th October 2017. Please join the Kirkham family to remember Roger.

A BBQ lunch will be held please contact AuSPICA for catering requirements (03) 5962 0000.
